View Full Version : Bands or Artist you had wished you had seen when they were alive
Is there any band or artist from the past that you wish you could have seen live ?
For me it would have to be Queen Live as Freddie Mercury died before i was old enough to really understand how great a musican he was was i still rate him as one of the worlds greatest singers to this day he died 2 young :(
Queen would definitely be one to see for me. Them and The Jimi Hendrix Experience.

This is where being old has its advantages - I managed to see the original line up of Queen twice.
1982 : Milton Keynes Bowl - last date of their "Hot Space" tour supported by Heart, Joan Jett And The BlackHearts and Teardrop Explodes.
1986 : Knebworth - last date of their "Magic" tour supported by Belouis Some, Big Country and Status Quo.
This was their last ever performance.
I also saw the Paul Rodgers version of the band at Hyde Park last year where they headlined the Nelson Mandela 90th birthday celebrations.
Paul's good, but he's no Freddie.
When I went to "We Will Rock You" a few years back I couldn't help wonder if I was the only one in the audience who'd actually seen the band.

The bands I always regretted not seeing when they were in their prime were Slade, Led Zeppelin and Genesis while Peter Gabriel was still with them, although I did see their one-off reunion in 1982 (again at the Milton Keynes Bowl) where they performed their old stuff with Peter singing and Phil back on drums.
